If you were wondering what the heavy machinery plunked down on Civic Center Plaza Sunday morning…I certainly was.
Eight sculptures by artist Manolo Valdés. The work will be on display April 29 – August 31.
There will be a dedication ceremony featuring the artist on Tuesday, 2/29/08, at 5:00pm.

CFLs contain a very small amount of mercury sealed within the glass tubing – an average of 5 milligrams – about the amount that would cover the tip of a ballpoint pen. By comparison, older thermometers contain about 500 milligrams of mercury. It would take 100 CFLs to equal that amount.
