I’ll have to put this one in the good urban experience column. Folks in the crowd were very cool, and every speaker at the rally specifically mentioned “peaceful”. The event was really about a group of people getting together to speak out against the human rights violations committed by the government of China (not the people).
The only low point of the night was when another Supervisor said, on mike, that “we’ve been calling Chris the Daly Lama around City Hall”. A little bit of barf came up the back of my throat…
