Love art, but low on cash? Put your wallet, or handbag away–the opening weekend of Chihuly at the de Young is free for all visitors June 14–15. The folks from The Crucible will be there all weekend doing fine arts demonstrations — a friend told me they are bringing their fire truck too.

Super-easy to get to the de Young from downtown: K, L, or M (outbound) to Forest Hill Station, and then hop on the 44 bus — it drops you off right at the de Young.
