‘Astronomical’ Caseload Hard to Crack

The number of homicide cases solved in San Francisco lags behind the national average of cities of a similar size, despite a number of crime-fighting initiatives…

…The police, Mirkarimi said, are “not creating the ability to harvest trust or the ability to get witnesses to come forward.” — SF Examiner

I didn’t know that Ross Mirkarimi is chair of the Board of Supervisors’ Public Safety Committee. Mirkirimi is one of the the supervisors that was against the Community Justice Center (the proposed collaborative court to reduce misdemeanor and drug crimes in The Tenderloin). I’m having difficulty creating the ability to harvest trust in a man that isn’t interested in reducing crime in San Francisco. I was at the BOS Community Justice Center hearing — Supervisor Mirkarimi expressed concern that prosecuting misdemeanor crime in The Tenderloin could spill crime over into his district. Remember, this is the man who has his sites on BOS President, or even Mayor. I’m having no difficulty at all creating the ability to harvest FEAR. — livinintheloin
