A tree planting planning meeting was held at The Book Concern Building last night. Heidi Lakics from Friends of the Urban Forest gave a presentation on tree planting, and the benefits of trees to neighborhoods within San Francisco. The presentation was both interesting and very informative. Thanks Heidi!
The August 9th planting will focus primarily on replacing damaged or missing trees in The Tenderloin — approximately 30 trees will be planted as replacement trees. First-time-trees are also planned for the planting in the neighborhood.
Neighborhood residents are encouraged to participate, by volunteering for planting day, Saturday, 8:00 am. August 9th, and/or for tree delivery day — Friday, 7:00 am. August 8th. A great way to get involved in our community, meet other Tenderloin TREE enthusiasts, learn about trees — and mingle at the post planting potluck.
If you are interested in volunteering — just email me, and I’ll get your name on the list of volunteers.
