SFPD arrest protesters as a woman on a bullhorns exclaimed “These are Iraqi War veterans. They are attempting to hold a second of silence for each American soldier killed in Iraq”.
The protest took place on Market Street, between 6th and 7th. The crowd, protesters, and police were all peaceful during the protest and subsequent arrests. Onlookers applauded the veterans, as they were arrested one by one.
Earlier this afternoon, SFPD arrested more than a dozen anti-war protesters as they blocked lunch-hour traffic at the intersection of Market and Montgomery streets in the Financial District.
